Building Development

From Theatres to Libraries and back again!

After being based on Havil Street for many years, Theatre Peckham have temporarily moved away from home, and have set up on the 2nd Floor of Peckham Library. This is all in preparation for the development of a new building on the site of the old Havil Hall, which plans to be open by autumn 2016. We’ll be launching the new theatre with a weekend of events in October 2016 – find out how you can get involved here.

Development on the site has already begun, and we are looking forward to seeing our old home on Havil Street being reinvented and given a new lease of life.

The new building will hold a slightly larger theatre than before (200 seater) with two studios alongside it. With this increase in space, Theatre Peckham hope to further our reach in the local community.  We are committed to developing projects that will utilise the new space to maximum effect, and increase opportunities and access for children and young people throughout Peckham and Camberwell.

In the meantime, Peckham Library, is an inspiring place to develop these ideas. We are really enjoying our new home, and making lots of friends. We have an office and large workshop room, and are ‘business as usual’ with workshops and shows, so feel free to pop-in and say hi!

Watch this space for updates on how the building is coming along…
