Theatre Peckham was founded in 1986 under the name New Peckham Varieties.

In 2002 New Peckham Varieties adopted the acronym NPV arts and the Theatre venue became Magic Eye Theatre.

In October 2007 the location of the theatre and the company name were amalgamated into a single entity – Theatre Peckham.
