THEATRE PECKHAM'S SUMMER SCHOOL
Theatre Peckham is offering FREE dance workshops (as part of Southwark’s Summer University programme).
There will be a one-week intensive introduction to a diverse range of dance styles, ranging from the early 1900’s right up to modern day Hip Hop and Krumping.

Entry for this classes are by assessment: Ballet 1, 2 & 3, Tap 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5
Membership fee is half-price for the second and all subsequent children. Theatre Peckham occacionally receives funding to support bursaries to help pay for workshop fees. Please call the office on 020 7708 5401 if you are on a low-income and would like to know more.

Theatre Peckham runs open-access workshops for all ages, abilities and styles of performance. Over 400 members attend our weekly classes and perform at Open Days at our theatre. Places for the new term fill up fast so book now!
Classes take place either at Theatre Peckham or The Academy at Peckham on Peckham Road.

MUSICAL THEATRE ![]()
Learn about the theatre style at the heart of Theatre Peckham. An enjoyable class that combines ovement, singing and acting which are the basis of Theatre Peckham productions, and a great way to improve co-ordination and performance techniques. Perfect for budding performers, this fun class offers excellent grounding if you want to have a chance of being in one of our shows!
DRAMA ![]()
A creative and fun class teaching drama skills for all ages. Let your imagination run wild as you learn warm up techniques, play drama games, have fun with role-play and explore improvisation. A fantastic confidence builder that also helps with speaking, listening and teamwork skills.
SINGING
Little Voices ![]()
This lively class is a fun combination of singing, banging, rattling and general noise-making, specially designed for under 5s. Mums and Dads can practise singing while little ones learn to join in.
Children must be accompanied by an adult
Singing ![]()
A fun class for young people to develop their vocal techniques and performance skills. Older students work on rhythm, harmony and pitch control and are taught a varied and exciting repertoire through group and solo work.
DANCE includes
Ballet
Preparation for Ballet
Focuses on free movement and having fun, while students in higher levels learn more advanced steps and develop Ballet techniques, such as stretching, barre and centre work. Students’ progress is monitored with professional internal assessments each year.
Fast Track Ballet
Additional skills and techniques for those who have already grasped the ballet basics.
Tap
An exciting dance class for all ages and abilities, designed to improve rhythm and co-ordination. Under 5s and young beginners start with the Preparation for Tap. As students progress they learn more intricate dance steps and more advanced routines set to toe-tapping tunes. All students take part in professional annual assessments
Black Dance ![]()
An exciting and unique opportunity to explore historic and contemporary Black Dance forms including Lindy, Tap, Jive, Bollywood and Hip-Hop. Theatre Peckham’s Black Dance group has gone on to perform at many prestigious events, including ROAR at Sadlers’ Wells and National Youth Dance Festival.
All welcome regardless of previous dance experience.
Boys Dance ![]()
A chance to learn fantastic dance routines from hit West-End musicals such as The Lion King and Five Guys Named Moe. A fun, energetic class led by experienced theatre professionals which gives boys the opportunity to learn some new moves, gain confidence and get involved in performing arts.
Street Dance Fusion ![]()
Younger children begin with basic steps and plenty of opportunities to burn off energy in a fun introduction to this dance style. Older children learn more intricate footwork and master the latest moves to Hip-Hop, R&B, Funk and Old Skool. Suitable for all ages and all levels.
