Roots

11th May - 12th May

About the show

‘My mother tongue crumbled to pieces, like ash in my mouth.’

Lalaki (Man) and Babae (Woman) wake up separated, in a world they can’t recognise. A world where their children are forced to uproot themselves. They walk in their children’s footsteps, experiencing environmental disasters, political upheaval, labour exploitation, and hostile lands. Roots weaves the inherited stories of Filipino migration throughout history.
