Acting Workshops (8 – 11)
‘A Lone Hero’ – This online acting workshop engages young people with the joy of acting in a playful way. Over 4 sessions, each of 40 minutes, they will work towards creating their own character. The character can be pure fantasy or based on somebody they know as long as they have one thing in common; they’re alone, a lone hero. From an astronaut to Batman, from the Greenland shark to your nan. How do they move? How do they talk? What do they want? And why are they like that?! All will be revealed by the end of the workshop
Every Monday from 5pm – 5.40pm

Workshop run by Mathijs Swarte
Mathijs Swarte is an actor, workshop leader, and teaching assistant in special educational needs, originally from Amsterdam, now living and working in South London. Currently he is working with KCL on the Future Voices public engagement project and with Theatre Peckham producing online content and workshops for their students. Besides this, he is busy with other creative projects including a short film and web series.

How it works
Register for the class. If you have siblings that want to join the same workshop, please ensure your register for each child separately. We will not be able to admit more than 1 child per registration.
We will send you a form to fill in and the Zoom ID and password 3 day before the start of the 1st workshop. Please fill this in at least 1 day before the start of the 1st workshop*.
Make sure you have a device with Zoom downloaded and ready to use.
On the day of the workshop, log into your Zoom from 4.58pm, input the meeting ID and password, turn off your audio and turn on your video camera and wait in the ‘waiting room’ until the host lets you in. Make sure you are there on time, the room will be locked at 5pm.
*It is super important we have the form back as this is the only way you can gain entry online.
How to book
This workshop is free to attend but if you are able to, you can choose to pay what you wish and donate to Theatre Peckham.
You only need to register once for the full 4 week course.
