DJ Mag Free Workshop for TP Academy Students

On Monday 17th February (half-term) DJ Mag are offering our students a free studio visit, song writing and music production class. They will be hosting this free workshop worth £7000 at their Shoreditch studio exclusively for our TP Academy. In addition DJ Mag will have talent/artists at the event providing feedback to our students as well as having the entire experience filmed, bringing the total raised in partnership for this workshop to a whopping £17,000 in-kind.

DJ Mag is a British magazine and multimedia brand that covers electronic dance music and club culture

The magazine has a commitment to supporting diversity within the industry particularly around Black talent and this really matches our own ambitions to build a more representative sector. And of course, we believe this starts with access. Access to Training, Access to Opportunities, Access to Representative Role Models.

Our students will learn more about the industry and present their creations from term 1 to an artist who will provide feedback on their musical pieces. In addition they will have the chance to enhance their pieces and make changes with the guidance of an artist. The students will also have created a collaborative track, that will be sent in advance to the team at the studio. They will also receive feedback and guidance on the collaborative track so they can make changes if needed.

The students will also learn how technology integrates into the world of music, and how they can use this to enhance their own creations. This will be an invaluable experience for our young people and we are grateful for the support from DJ Mag to make this a reality for our students.
