February Half Term Workshops 2022

Monday 14 – Friday 18 February

All sessions are £5. There are a number of free places available for those who need financial support. Please contact membership@theatrepeckham.co.uk.

Monday 14

11am – 5pm, Get into Filming with Mediorite (13–18yrs)
Work as a team to share creative ideas and contribute towards a music video or short film in a fun, hands on, one day session.

Tuesday 15

Peckham Open Play from Theatre Peckham’s Resident Company
Floss and Seb, two company members from our Christmas production The Wonderful, lead a session of play through movement and imagination. Click on a time below to book.

Wednesday 16

11am, Mind Over Matter: Movement (14-16 yrs) 
A workshop exploring the different movement within theatre, showing how we can use our bodies to tell a story.

12.30pm, Mind Over Matter: Connect (14-16 yrs)  
A blend of mindfulness exercises and writing prompts centered around processing and expressing emotions in healthy ways. Facilitated by poet and psychotherapist Anna Sinski. 

Thursday 17 

10am – 1pm, ICT Workshop: acting, singing and dance (17+ yrs old)
A taster for young people who are interested in pursuing a performing arts degree. Participants will earn more about the ICT programme and do some practical work. Visit ICT’s website for information about their programme

4pm – 6pm, IGNITE all-female Dance Company: taster sessions (14–19 yrs)
Girls aged 14 – 19 are invited to learn more about physical and mental well-being through dance. Participants can attend one or both workshops on Thursday 17 and Friday 18 and have a taste of what it would be like to join the group in April 2022. Watch the Ignite  Dance Company showcase on our YouTube Channel below.

Friday 18

Mind Over Matter: Poetry Prescribed (14-16 yrs)
Learn how Spoken Word and creative writing can help deal with difficult topics. The session includes a live performance from Miss Yankey, a guided free write challenge and practical advice about using poetry and other forms of writing to support mental health and wellbeing. Facilitated by Miss Yankey, founder of Poetry Prescribed. There are two times to choose from:
