What is Illuminate?

Illuminate, our technical theatre programme, is back this time right on time for Peckham Fringe. The programme will involve four practical training workshops in lighting and sound, with the opportunity to apply for a paid placement on a Peckham Fringe show. 

We will offer up to five paid placements in sound and lighting. Each placement will get the opportunity to support the get in, programming and operating and get out of a Peckham Fringe show. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in technical theatre and is looking to get hands on training to break into the industry. 

 Illuminate provides: 

Placement fee: £13.15/hr for up to 25 hrs

Key Dates

19th April – Applications close at 4pm
 
19th April – Applicants are informed if they’ve been successful 
 
22nd April – Sound Workshops 
Venue: Studio 1
Workshop 1: 10-12pm
Workshop 2: 1-3pm
23rd April – Lighting Workshops

Venue: Theatre 
Workshop 1: 10-12pm
Workshop 2: 1-3pm 
 
1st May – 8th June – Peckham Fringe (If you are chosen to be a placement you will only be required for one show, not throughout the festival) 
 
Please note that if you’ve been accepted for the training it does not guarantee a placement as there are limited places. Attendance in the workshops is compulsory to be considered for a placement.

Am I eligible?

You do not need to have previously worked in technical theatre to apply. You simply need to be willing to work, committed and have an interest in theatre.
