Dear Theatre Peckham Members,  

Thank you for your continued support over the past months throughout lockdown. We have missed connecting inside the building; however, it has been amazing to see so many of you continuing to engage with Theatre Peckham from your own homes. We adapted to become a hub for digital creative activity, classes for children, masterclasses, and development training for emerging artists. Activity packs also went out by post to the homes of 300+ children. This was all made possible through our dedicated team and trusted funders who understand the impact that Theatre Peckham makes. 

We are excited to share that we are now making steps towards re-opening the building and have been busy behind the scenes making sure that we can operate safely under social distancing with increased cleaning and sanitation. 

When we reopen, we are clear that our focus has to be two-fold: supporting our community through arts, culture and creativity; and ensuring the financial sustainability of Theatre Peckham.  

During August we are phasing our re-opening with our ‘Behind Closed Doors’ activities. These follow our Covid-19 safety guidelines and will be a good indicator for how we will be able to operate once the Academy opens from 21^st September 2020. The Academy will be an adapted programme in line with government guidelines to include smaller class sizes, some online classes, and a new signup process.   

We will*:  

• Clean spaces in between all classes  
• Create a one-way system around the building  
• Provide antibacterial gel  
• Maintain a 2-metre distance where possible   
• Reduce touchpoints within the building.   
• Minimise who is coming in and out of the building   
• Ask that anyone who develops symptoms to inform us immediately and self-isolate. (We may also use temperature screening on any individual that enters the building).   

More than ever, we want Theatre Peckham to be a hub for the community which can be achieved if we all work together to make the experience safe for everyone. The relationships that we are building with funders and the gratefully received donations from our members for our online classes, have made all of this possible. With your continued support we’re confident that you will be able to safely enjoy our activities at Theatre Peckham.
