Peckham Fringe
What is Peckham Fringe?
Peckham Fringe is a performing arts festival which takes place at Theatre Peckham from Monday 2 May to Sunday 5 June 2022. Submissions for this year’s Peckham Fringe are now closed.
Peckham Fringe was set-up as an alternative to other Festivals, offering Artists and Companies the chance to try out something different in a dynamic and supportive setting.
What should my production be?
Your production can be new writing, musical, stand-up, sketch comedy, dance, cabaret, opera, poetry, mentalism, improvisation or a Q&A. Or perhaps it sits outside of the forms listed, either way we want to hear from you. To perform at Peckham Fringe you will need to arrange your own creative team and there are a few things to consider listed below. Everyone is welcome to apply.
How many performances can I do?
There are various options from one to four performances. We will have this discussion on an individual basis.
What space is available?
We have two spaces available, please see Technical Specification for each one:
Main Theatre (audience capacity of 200, performers capacity of 12). A versatile space and will house many art forms.
Studio One (audience capacity of 50, performers capacity of four). Perfect for spoken word, comedy, music and poetry.
What is the selection process?
We will consider all shows on an individual basis and ask two main questions when choosing:
who is this show for?
what story does it tell?
All proposals will be made to our Associate Director, Phillippe Cato, by completing our online submission form. Phillippe will shortlist shows for Peckham Fringe which will then be agreed by our Producer Wayne Glover-Stuart and Artistic Director Suzann McLean. All submissions will receive a response.

Peckham Fringe Guarantee and Box Office Split
There is no fee to take part in Peckham Fringe instead we work with a guarantee to Theatre Peckham and then a scalable box office split. The more tickets that are sold, the better financial deal can be made for Artists.
We will deduct a Peckham Fringe Guarantee from your box office sales, of £200 per show for the Main Theatre, or £100 for Studio One. This enables Theatre Peckham to open and supply a Duty Technician, a Duty Manager and the Front of House team.
Once the Peckham Fringe Guarantee has been reached we will split the remaining Box Office revenue between the Artist and Theatre Peckham in the following percentages:
TICKET SALES | BOX OFFICE SPLIT |
85% or above | 70% Artist / 30% Theatre Peckham |
65% or above | 60% Artist / 40% Theatre Peckham |
50% or above | 50% Artist / 50% Theatre Peckham |
Below 50% | 40% Artist / 60% Theatre Peckham |
