About the show
AT THEATRE PECKHAM
To coincide with Black History Month, Theatre Peckham will be launching a new branch of work – delivering anti-racism coaching and training for organisations in the cultural, public and private sector from October 2020. TP will offer a range of bespoke, interactive digital and in-person workshops that offer nuanced insights for participants seeking to devise new policies to enact real change in the workplace.
Devised in-house by our team with years of freelance experience delivering anti-oppression work, our Head of Partnerships Simone Watson leads an interactive introductory seminar on understanding the functions of racism and how this can show up in the work place – with a particular focus on the use of language when engaging with culturally diverse audiences and consumers.
The workshop will offer participants insights into what privilege is, what it grants access to and how to utilise privilege positively, as well as touching on the crucial difference between equality and equity when addressing inequalities in society.
Simone Watson is an Associate Consultant, Executive Performance and Impact Coach and is a Creative & Corporate Facilitator for award winning companies UnLtd, Maynard Leigh Associates and EVERFI Edcoms with previous clients including the British Army and the NHS. As Founder and Director of Dramatic Momentum, Simone uses her background in theatre to offer tools and techniques from the world of theatre and performing arts, to help young people and vulnerable adults from disadvantaged backgrounds to become ‘job ready’ by developing self-awareness, self – esteem and vital employability skills.
