A place where your neighbours living large or he’s flat broke”
Ardz, a young rapper, is propelled into sudden fame while wrestling with identity, loyalty, and the responsibility that comes with a growing platform. As pressure mounts, he is forced to confront where his true heart lies: protecting his success or using his voice to stand for something greater than himself.
Featuring original live music, Manchester Drive is a story by Behkam Salehani, after Nezami Ganjavi’s Layli O Majnun.
About the cast:
Behkam Salehani – Ardz
Behkam Salehani trained at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre Springboard Programme and Theatre Peckham Rep, graduating in 2024. His credits include Cul De Sac at the Omnibus Theatre, Anthony And Cleopatra at Theatre Peckham, as well as in films such as Jack and Tales of Babylon. Manchester Drive is Behkam’s writing debut.
Rima Georges – Shirin
Rima Georges trained at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre Springboard programme, graduating in 2024. Her credits include Stereophonic (The Duke of York’s Theatre), Moving with Honour (short film).
Wesley Bozonga – Multiroller
Wesley Bozonga is an actor who trained at Arts Ed Foundation and Middleweek Newton’s Film and TV training. Since 2019, Wesley has been working professionally across theatre, playing Prince Charming in Cinderella (Theatre Royal Stratford East), and starring in two tours of Jekyll and Hyde (National Theatre). His most recent screen credits include appearances in Casualty and Grace.
