About the show
AT THEATRE PECKHAM
At a time where police brutality, climate change, systemic imbalances in education and employment as well as a global health pandemic have impacted the Black community globally, Young & Gifted Chats is an opportunity to dissect pressing themes for Black Londoners and their allies today in a live-streamed panel event.
Bringing together Black artists, academics, educators and entrepreneurs who have excelled in their fields (or simply have a lot to say), the first edition will centre around the Black British Business Boom during Covid-19 as more people look away from traditional working patterns and turn to starting-up their own businesses.
Chaired by Khalia Ismain, founder of Jamii – a discount & discovery platform for Black-owned businesses – the discussion and Q&A will touch on Black Pound Day and its impact, creating a ‘Black economy’ in the UK, Black people’s relationship with capitalism and the future of Black entrepreneurship. Panelists to be announced soon!
