Theatre Peckham’s Patrons

John is a Theatre Peckham alumnus. He joined in 2001 from local Oliver Goldsmith Primary School. Today he’s a Golden Globe Award winner and a BAFTA Rising Star. In January 2020, John unveiled our mural dedicated to him, created by street artist The Artful Dodger. It pays tribute to Theatre Peckham’s past and is an inspiration for all young people who walk through our doors.
Jenny is an EMMY, BAFTA & AACTA award winning actress who lives locally. She is best know for her role in The Railway Children and the BBC series Call the Midwife. Jenny is a long standing Patron of Theatre Peckham, she has been a strong advocate of our work and is keen to ensure the future of TP for her local community.
Paulette Randall MBE is a British theatre director, born in Brixton. She is the former artistic director of the Talawa Theatre Company and produced the much-loved TV comedy Desmond’s, set in Peckham.
Paulette came to our 30yr celebration of Desmond’s last January and wanted to support the work we do with young people and connect them to the industry.
Miatta Fahnbulleh MP
Miatta Fahnbulleh was elected as the MP for Peckham in July 2024. She studied philosophy, politics and economics at the University of Oxford and obtained a PhD degree in economic development from the London School of Economics. Miatta was the Chief Executive of the New Economics Foundation from 2017 to 2023 and previously worked at the IPPR as the Director of Policy and Research.
Roy Williams OBE
Roy is an award-winning writer whose plays include The Death of England Trilogy (National Theatre); and Sucker Punch (Royal Court Theatre, nominated for the Olivier Award for Best Play). TV work includes Fallout (Channel 4); Babyfather (BBC), and Let It Snow (Sky One). He was awarded the OBE for Services to Drama in 2008 and was made a fellow of The Royal Society of Literature in 2018.
Matt Hemley
As Editor of The Stage, the theatre-industry publication, where he has worked for almost 20 years, Matt is passionate about the arts and its role in engaging communities. He is local to Theatre Peckham and is looking forward to championing our work as a patron during our 40th anniversary year and beyond.
