Volunteering and Placements Opportunities
As a charity, Theatre Peckham dreams of a world where people of all ages have equality of opportunity to lead, participate, work in, and enjoy creativity and culture at a local, national and international level. We are always open to welcoming volunteers and hosting placements to help support our mission and vision.
Last year, over 3628 hours of volunteering and placement have been recorded with 43 young people involved. We collaborate with universities, local colleges, national and international organisations to support widening access for young people to enter the arts industries, including Goldsmiths University, Mountview College, Queen Mary’s University, Royal Holloway University
of London, Beyond Academy, The Inter Group, Harris Academy, Southwark College, Charter School, Wimbledon College of the Arts,Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, just to name a few.
We also built relationships with institutions that provide payment to young people doing their placements. This is a step toward removing financial barriers and enabling individuals from lower income background to participate in the schemes.
Placement Scheme (ages 13+)
Placements will be able to engage in various parts of Theatre Peckham, including departments of choice such as administration, costume and set design, marketing, finance, fundraising, technical and venue.
Our Head of Academy will closely support the placements to get signed up onto the scheme and ensure we create the most useful and relevant placement for the young people. Placements can claim reimbursement for reasonable expenses (such as travel), so that finances are never a barrier to taking part in the placement scheme.
Volunteering Scheme
We are always looking for enthusiastic individuals to contribute to the vision of Theatre Peckham. Many past volunteers do so in order to gain experience in a theatre or simply to give back to their local community. Whether it is photography, graphic desig n, ushering or events, let us know what you are passionate about and we will find a place for you.

Who these opportunities are for:
We are looking for curious, creative and committed individuals who are excited to learn, grow and be part of our community. You might recognise yourself in some of the following:

Theatre Peckham is an organisation for social change and addresses systemic, root causes of social, political, cultural, and economic inequalities with the aim to alleviate not only those inequalities but also the underlying conditions and circumstances that bring them about.
Therefore, we particularly seek to support placements and volunteers who are underrepresented in the arts, including those who are from the Global Majority, disabled people, LGBTQIA+ people and those from low socio-economic backgrounds.
