Young Actors Company (17-19YRS)

What is Young Actors Company (YAC)?

YAC is a vibrant and inclusive programme for aspiring actors aged 17-19. It offers a supportive and creative environment for young people to explore and develop their skills in acting technique, devising, and theatre performance.

Each year YAC take part in National Theatre Connections, a programme that gives groups the opportunity to perform a newly commissioned play by top playwrights. Connections is the National Theatre’s annual, nationwide youth theatre festival and has a history of championing the talent of young people from across the UK.

YAC is dedicated to nurturing talent and empowering young creatives.

This year YAC are performing Wind/Rush Generation(s) by Written by Mojisola Adebayo. Book Here

What is YAC like?

“I just wanted to let you know that I had a casting around two weeks ago for a film and in the casting workshop, we did improvisation. Improvisation wasn’t necessarily my strong suit before we started doing it in class but I’m much more confident at it now because of you guys!
I just want to thank you guys for pushing me to my limit even though it was uncomfortable for me in the moment.”

“I’m not in YAC to get a job. I’m in YAC to do a job.”

Actors on the programme will participate in the National Theatre’s 2024 Connections Festival at Theatre Peckham led by directors Vikesh Godhwani and Gustavo Silva Navarro.
